3 Drabble Song Challenges

Rating: T
Characters: Wendy, the Middleman, Roxy
Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to these characters, the show or the comic and I am not being paid for this.
Summary:  For the song shuffle drabble challenge
Author's Note:  I've kept trying to do the song Drabble challenge (i.e., write a fic during the time of the song) just to see if I actually COULD.  As usual, I did get distracted with something longer (which I'll post separately), but I did manage to get these three in.  No beta reads, so they might be a bit raw and a little dumb (I'm not the best at coming up with instant story.)  On the plus side, I really did manage to do these in the time allotted and with random songs.  Comments always appreciated.

#1:   Self Control (Laura Branigan)

Walking through Famouse always makes Wendy feel as if she's been rubbed down with raw meat and asked to walk through a pen of hungry Dobermans, but today's worse than usual.

As she and the Middleman walk to Roxy's office, she notices more and more of the succubi and incubi are peeling off from their little crowds and following them. Not with any malice that she can see. More like they're all listening to the same siren song or following a particularly enticing aroma in hopes of finding dinner at trail's end.

Roxy bustles out of her office, an atomizer in one scarlet-nailed hand.  "Go.  GO!" she snarls at the milling crowd. "Are you all mindless as well as incompetent? And get me chocolate!"

Slowly, the mob disperses, not without a few lingering looks cast behind them. Roxy sighs.

"A good thing you called ahead, Em-Em, darling." The succubus takes a deep breath, her eyes shading briefly scarlet as she does so. Nor does she greet the Middleman with her usual air kiss. "I've got the antidote ready. Now, which one of you got hit with the pheromone spell?"

Silently, very carefully not exchanging glances and staying well out of each other's reach, the Middleman and Wendy point at each other.

#2  We Do What We're Told (Milgram's 37) – (Peter Gabriel)

Three fluffy spotted rabbits, each as big as Wendy's hand, are cuddled up in the nest at her feet. She looks from them to her boss in horror.

"You want me to do what?"

"I said, eliminate that nest while I look for the progenitor. It can't be far."

"You want me to kill little fluffy bunnies?! No way, Boss. No [bleeping] way."

One of the three rabbits opens an eye. Bright red. Blood red, not albino pink. Its ears twitch. In an instant, all three rabbits have their eyes open. Only then does Wendy realize what they're nesting in: human hair. There's a split second between that realization and the next, which is that those dark spots on their white bodies aren't a natural coloration; they're dried blood. And those no-longer-so-cute little white teeth poking out from the front of their mouths are getting longer by the minute.

In the next instant, they're ash. The Middleman holsters his ray gun and shakes his head.

"Have you ever heard the joke that aliens could take over the planet if they just knew enough to come in the form of bunnies or kittens?"

"Yeah, but you know – joke."

"Afraid not, Dubbie. Let that be a lesson. Appearances are deceiving, especially when it comes to killer Lapinarians coming to Earth for their hunting season."

The smoke from the nest curls up in a lazy spiral. Wendy shakes her head. No way is she going to be able to look Lacey in the eye when she gets home.

#3 -- Devil Woman (All About Eve)

"[Bleep], I hate magic," Wendy grumbled.

"How very simple-minded and generalizing of you," Roxy sneered. "I hated Windows Vista, but even I see the benefits in computers."

"Have you been helped?"

"No, but I'm sure you could manage if I needed some. That vest and tie simply screams waitress chic."

The Middleman suppressed a sigh.  Best to step in before blood was spilled.

"Dubbie," he interjected before Wendy could respond, "I need to speak to Roxy alone for a moment. Could you wait for me in the car?"
